JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto flew from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base to Beijing, People's Republic of China, Tuesday (2/9/2025) this evening.

"This evening, President Prabowo Subianto will depart for Beijing, China, at an invitation from President Xi Jinping," said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi in a statement on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel on Tuesday evening (September 2, 2025).

The plane carrying President Prabowo and his limited entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base at around 20.00 WIB.

Prabowo will attend the celebrations for the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War.

It was postponed

Prasetyo Hadi explained that President Xi's invitation had actually been scheduled for August 31, 2025.

However, President Prabowo had postponed his departure due to the dynamics of the domestic situation.

"And in recent days, there has been a strong request from the Chinese government for President Prabowo Subianto to attend at least one day of the 80th anniversary commemoration and the Chinese government's military parade," said Prasetyo Hadi.

Prabowo has received reports that the situation in Indonesia has recovered, so Prabowo will leave tonight.

"And the next night, he had returned to his homeland," said Prasetyo.
