Making a statement on his social media account X, Erdoğan said; Turkey is waging a major fight against forest fires in the air and on the ground.
We are currently on alert day and night with 27 planes, 105 helicopters, nearly 6 thousand land vehicles, 25 thousand heroic forest workers, and 132 thousand volunteers to protect our Green Homeland.
All our relevant institutions, especially our Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, continue their work under the coordination of AFAD, with unwavering sensitivity, dedication, and sacrifice. Since the beginning of the summer, we have completely extinguished 3,062 fires in our country.
I wish success to our heroes who are putting their hearts and souls into their work in the firefighting efforts that are ongoing in different parts of our Green Homeland and from which we hope to receive good news as soon as possible, and I express my gratitude to each and every one of them for their efforts.
I once again pray to God for mercy upon all my brothers and sisters who were martyred fighting the fires. May their souls rest in peace.
