Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will make a special announcement with Sándor Csányi in Gödöllő on Monday, which"will be mentioned throughout the country for decades," the prime minister announced on his social media page.

The Prime Minister wrote in his post that immediately after the Gödöllő event, he will travel to Sharm-es-Sheikh, where he will participate in the Middle East peace summit. As he said, he received an invitation from US President Donald Trump on Saturday night. On Sunday, Index contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to find out whether such an invitation had been received, but we have not yet received an answer to our questions, as Sunday's press reports already reported that Hungary had also received an invitation from the United States to the Middle East peace summit on Monday. Israel will not participate in the meeting.

At the summit, the leaders of the United States, Qatar, Turkey and Egypt will sign the Middle East peace plan. Orbán called it a “huge achievement.”

– the Prime Minister wrote, adding that “we must provide all support” for this.

In his post, he highlighted that there is a “pro-peace network” in the world that works for peace in various conflict zones – be it the Middle East, the Caucasus or Ukraine. Hungary is a “proud member” of this network, which Orbán called “a coalition of normal people”.

The prime minister has not yet revealed any more details about the Gödöllő announcement, only to say that, in the words of Sándor Petőfi:"Be loyal Hungarians in deed, and not just in word..."
