At 2 a.m. last night, Greta Thunberg was stopped from entering Gaza.

After dramatic scenes, Israeli military boarded the sailboat Madleen with twelve people on board.

Before they are released, they will be shown horror videos from October 7, according to the Minister of Defense.

The Freedom Flotilla's crew of twelve people, who sailed from Sicily a week ago, stated earlier in the night that they had begun preparing life jackets in anticipation of Israeli military personnel being able to board.

The activist group also stated that it has been attacked from the air by drones spraying the ship with chemicals.

“My eyes are burning,” says one of the people on board in a video clip.

The clip also said that the IDF is trying to contact the boat.

At 2 a.m. Swedish time, the group then stated that Israeli military had boarded Madleen.

Everyone on board must be taken care of.

Taken to Israel

The Freedom Flotilla has published a picture of the activists sitting in life jackets with their hands outstretched in the air. The Israeli Foreign Ministry has published a video of the activists being given water and sandwiches.

The ship will now be redirected to Israel, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.

"The show is over," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes on social media.

It is stated that the crew will then be sent back to their home countries, the Jerusalem Post writes.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz says the crew will be shown videos of the Hamas brutal massacre on October 7th before they are released, several Israeli media outlets report. Once again, he called Greta Thunberg an anti-Semite.

“It is appropriate that anti-Semitic Greta Thunberg and her Hamas supporters see exactly which terrorist organization they came to support and for which they work, what atrocities they committed against women, the elderly and children and against which Israel is fighting to defend itself.”

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it is monitoring the situation closely.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant foreign missions are aware of the situation and are following developments," the press service writes in a response to Aftonbladet.

The press service further writes:

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy in Tel Aviv are in contact with local authorities and are monitoring the situation closely. Should the need for consular support arise, the embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will assess how we can best help the Swedish citizen Greta Thunberg resolve her situation."

The crew had prepared

The Israeli government has previously said that it will not allow Madleen to enter Gaza.

– The Palestinians have the right to decide what enters their waters and it is illegal to stop a civilian ship with humanitarian aid, Greta Thunberg said to Aftonbladet on Sunday.

– We will not turn back. We are heading towards Gaza.

Thunberg then said that the crew was ready for an Israeli takeover of the boat.

– We have done non-violent training and have protocols for how to act in the event of a possible attack, a takeover of the boat, arrests, violence or other scenarios, she said.

In addition to the crew, the Madleen also carried emergency aid, including food, for the residents of Gaza.

Israel's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the emergency aid aboard the Madleen will be sent to Gaza.
