French President Emmanuel Macron called for the complete disarmament of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and its complete exclusion from all forms of government.
This came in a post on his official X page on Sunday evening, in which he commented on video clips published by the Al-Qassam Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades, which showed two Israeli prisoners in deteriorating health.
He pointed out that France's top priority is the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, an immediate ceasefire, and the delivery of large quantities of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
He stressed the importance of implementing the two-state solution, as it is the only possible path to a future that guarantees justice, security, and dignity for all peoples of the region.
He added:"In this political perspective that we adhere to, we demand the complete disarmament of Hamas, its complete exclusion from any form of government, and the recognition of Israel by the State of Palestine."
Videos released by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades, showing two Israeli detainees in deteriorating health, have shocked political and popular circles in Israel, amid mutual accusations and growing concern over the fate of the remaining captives in the Gaza Strip.
In the video, the two detainees appear to be speaking in low voices, and they appear to be exhausted and underweight. Their appearance in this manner draws attention not only to the conditions of their detention, but also to the dire humanitarian crisis facing Gaza's residents under siege and ongoing bombardment.
The two detainees also appeared extremely thin, with clear signs of malnutrition, which made it difficult for some of their family members to identify them at first, according to what was reported by Israeli media.
